After we process an authorization request for services, a confirmation fax is sent to the provider to notify that we received the request. Faxes are sent on a daily basis. There are three types of faxes that provide authorization status and patient details for processed requests:
- Authorization Confirmation by Referring Provider
This confirmation fax is sent to the provider who submitted the request.
- Authorization Confirmation by Referred-To Provider
This confirmation fax is sent to the provider authorized to render services.
- Authorization Confirmation for Home Health/DME Services
This fax indicates whether a service or recertification has been approved or denied and is sent to the home health or DME provider authorized to render services.
