Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

EFT is a free and secure way for providers to receive faster claims payments, and it eliminates long wait times for payment checks to arrive via mail.

Use the following guide to complete the EFT enrollment form, described in Section F.1 (Forms). Please use one enrollment form per tax ID. Find the form and instructions at www.peopleshealth.com/providers/enroll-in-electronic-funds-transfer.

  • Include your tax ID number on the form.
  • Include a copy of a preprinted, voided check or bank letter. Deposit slips and starter checks are not accepted. We cannot process an enrollment request without this information.
  • The enrollment form must be signed by two people, a health care professional (M.D., CFO, CEO, etc.) authorized on the EFT bank account and a supervisor-level authorized representative (office manager, billing manager, etc.). If a sole proprietorship, only one signature is needed.
  • Email is the preferred method of submission. Email completed forms for new enrollments or changes and requests for terminations to provider@peopleshealth.com.
  • After enrolling in EFT with Peoples Health, paper explanations of payment will no longer be sent to you, effective the date of the EFT setup. Instead, electronic remittance advice (ERA), or an 835 file, will be provided. You may also access your Explanation of Payment online through our Provider Portal. If you do not have an ERA when you request EFT enrollment, you will be provided with instructions for how to access remittance information online.
    • Please note: ERA is sent by the clearinghouse to the location associated with the tax ID for which EFT has been set up. For example, if you are associated with a main office or parent company and that entity set up the EFT enrollment, the ERA for your location will be sent to that entity. If you have any questions about how your ERA is being processed or where it is sent, call the clearinghouse directly.
    • You will have one pre-notification (pre-note) period before EFT transfers officially begin. The pre-note testing period ensures your EFT transfers work properly. The pre-note period begins the week that you submit your next claim and ends on the date when payments are issued for that week’s claims. During the pre-note period, you will continue to receive checks for claims payments due to you those weeks.
    • If you are not currently receiving ERA, sign up with Change Healthcare. You can do so by visiting Change Healthcare’s website and completing the ERA Provider Setup Form. Complete the form and email it to batchenrollment@changehealthcare.com. If you need assistance signing up, call Change Healthcare at 1-866-924-4634.

Please allow up to 30 business days for enrollment processing. Processing times may vary depending on the number of enrollments received, the accuracy of the information provided and form legibility. Peoples Health will send confirmation as to when EFT will start. To take advantage of EFT, your bank must be a participating member of the National Automated Clearing House Association. You are responsible for notifying Peoples Health of any changes to your banking information. A Peoples Health representative may call you to confirm accuracy of the banking information.

EFT does not change Peoples Health overpayment policies and procedures.
